Data deletion

Last updated 11 October 2026.

This page explains how to disconnect a platform account from Most Wishlisted, what that does and doesn’t delete, how to remove Most Wishlisted from Instagram’s, Threads’, Facebook’s, TikTok’s, Bluesky’s and YouTube’s own settings, and how to ask us to delete everything else we hold about your studio.

Disconnect an account in the app

Sign in to the app as your studio, then open Settings (at the bottom of the sidebar on a computer, or under More on a phone), then Connections. Each connected Instagram, TikTok, Discord, Bluesky, YouTube, Threads or Facebook Page account is listed under its platform (a Facebook connection is one Page), with its name and status (Connected, Needs signing in again, or Revoked).

  1. Next to the account, select Disconnect.
  2. Select Confirm disconnect to finish, or Cancel to back out.

What disconnecting deletes

Disconnecting removes that connection straightaway: the stored account id and name, and the encrypted access token, refresh token, webhook URL, or app password and session (Bluesky), are deleted from our database, along with the record of any posting attempts made through that connection. For TikTok and YouTube, disconnecting also asks the platform to revoke our access there and then, not just in our own database. When you disconnect the last Facebook Page you connected, it also asks Facebook to remove our permissions (best effort: if that call fails, the connection here is still removed).

It also deletes the post numbers we read through that account: the numbers from each reading, YouTube’s daily numbers, and the posts we found on the account that you hadn’t posted or added yourself. That happens straightaway, and any cached copy is cleared within 7 days. Posts you made through the app, or added yourself, stay on your timeline with any numbers you typed in; the numbers we read through the account go. Numbers you typed in and events you added are yours, and stay until you remove them.

It does not delete posts you’ve already made through it. A post keeps its own record of when it went out and its link, since that’s stored on the post itself, not on the connection. Nothing more can be posted, or read, through a disconnected account until you connect it again.

Remove the app from Instagram’s own settings

Disconnecting in Most Wishlisted stops us from posting, but Instagram also keeps its own record that this app was authorised. To remove that too: open Instagram, go to Settings, then look for Apps and websites (sometimes shown under Accounts Centre), find Most Wishlisted, and remove it. Menu names move around between Instagram versions, so look for a section about connected or authorised apps if these exact names have changed.

When you remove it there, Instagram tells us, and we delete the stored access token and mark the connection as revoked straight away, so nothing more can be posted or read through it. We delete the post numbers we read through it within 7 days. If you ask Instagram or Meta to delete your data, we’re told that too, and we delete the connection completely. Meta then gives you a link back to this page to check the request.

During this testing release, Instagram accounts that connect are added as testers on our Meta developer app. If yours was, you can remove that tester role from the same place.

Remove the app from Threads’ own settings

Disconnecting in Most Wishlisted stops us reading your post numbers, but Threads also keeps its own record that this app was authorised. To remove that too: open Threads, go to More, then Settings, then Account, then Website permissions; under Active, find Most Wishlisted and select Remove. Menu names move around between Threads versions, so look for a section about connected or authorised apps or websites if these exact names have changed.

When you remove it there, Threads tells us, and we delete the stored access token and mark the connection as revoked straight away. We delete the post numbers we read through it within 7 days. If you ask Meta to delete your data, we’re told that too, and we delete the connection completely, and the numbers with it. Meta then gives you a link back to this page to check the request.

We only read post numbers from Threads. We never post to it.

During this testing release, Threads accounts that connect are added as testers on our Meta developer app. If yours was, you can remove that tester role from the same place.

Remove the app from Facebook’s own settings

Disconnecting a Page in Most Wishlisted stops us reading its post numbers, but Facebook also keeps its own record that this app was authorised. To remove that too: open Facebook, select your profile picture, then Settings and privacy, then Settings, then Apps and websites (it may also be shown as Business integrations); find Most Wishlisted, select Remove, then select Remove again to confirm. Menu names move around between Facebook versions, so look for a section about connected or authorised apps if these exact names have changed.

When you remove it there, Facebook tells us, and for every Page you connected we delete the stored access tokens and mark the connection as revoked straight away. We delete the post numbers we read through them within 7 days. If you ask Meta to delete your data, we’re told that too, and we delete those connections completely, and the numbers with them. Meta then gives you a link back to this page to check the request.

We only read post numbers from Facebook Pages. We never post to them.

During this testing release, people who connect a Facebook Page are given a role on our Meta developer app. If yours was, you can remove that role from the same place.

Remove the app from TikTok’s own settings

Open TikTok, go to Settings and privacy, then look for Security or Manage account, find the list of connected or authorised apps, find Most Wishlisted, and remove access. As with Instagram, TikTok moves these menu names around from time to time.

When you remove it there, TikTok tells us, and we delete the stored access token and mark the connection as revoked straight away, so nothing more can be posted or read through it. We delete the post numbers we read through it within 7 days.

Remove the app password from Bluesky’s own settings

Disconnecting in Most Wishlisted does not revoke the App Password itself: Bluesky has no API for a connected app to do that. Open Bluesky, go to Settings, then Privacy and security, then App passwords, find the one you made for Most Wishlisted, and delete it there. Once it’s deleted, that app password stops working everywhere, immediately.

Remove the app from YouTube’s own settings

Disconnecting a YouTube account in Most Wishlisted already asks Google to revoke our access straightaway (best effort: if that call fails, the connection here is still removed). To check, or to revoke it yourself directly with Google at any time: sign in to the Google account you connected, open Google’s permissions page, find Most Wishlisted, and remove access. Either way stops us posting to that channel, and reading its numbers, immediately; you can always reconnect later to grant access again.

If you disconnect YouTube in Most Wishlisted, we delete the YouTube data we hold for that account within 7 days. If you remove our access on Google’s page instead, we delete it within 30 days.

Until YouTube finishes reviewing our app, it may keep videos we upload private, whatever privacy setting you chose. Check a video’s visibility in YouTube Studio after it posts. See our privacy notice for how this app uses Google API data.

Disconnect your Stripe account (insider offer)

If your studio has connected its own Stripe account for the insider offer, disconnect it at any time from that game’s Insider screen. Disconnecting asks Stripe to revoke our access there and then, and we forget the connected account’s id either way. It doesn’t affect purchases already made: those stay in your own Stripe account, and in our own record of who backed you, for your reference.

Ask us to delete everything

To have us delete everything we hold about your studio, not just one connection, use our contact form or email hello@mostwishlisted.com, with your studio’s name. We’ll act on it within 7 days for anything that came from a platform, such as post numbers, and within 30 days for everything else: your games, sites, media, posts, contacts and business records all go. Our technical error logs are unlinked from your studio, but may remain.
